Label your AI images with mintys.

You upload, mintys does the rest: checks whether your content needs a label at all, finds the right one and sets it in your design – same spot in every format. The proof travels inside the file, machine-readable.

Since August 2, 2026: if you publish AI content that counts as a deepfake, you have to say so. That covers almost every industry.

Marketing teams, agencies, online shops, manufacturers, publishers, journalists, influencers, photographers, AI startups, hotels, real-estate agents, trade businesses, clubs.

  • A couple at a restaurant, the server pouring wine. Top right the label AI GENERATED
  • A young man trying on glasses at an optician's mirror. Top right the label AI GENERATED
  • A handbag on a stone plinth in sunlight. Down the left edge the label AI GENERATED
  • A hotel room with a made-up double bed and a view to the window. Bottom left the label AI GENERATED

Four scenes from four industries, all AI-generated. Without the label you'd never know.

The rules are complex. mintys makes them simple.

Does this apply to you? Self-test, two minutes.

Art. 50 EU AI Act (the labeling obligation for AI content and deepfakes). It applies whether you provide AI or just use it – mintys covers the labeling for both roles.

Label it right.

Many AI tools label automatically, but only in the metadata. That's exactly what platforms strip on upload.

Metadata gone, label gone.

The label lives in the image itself and stays readable wherever it ends up.

Missing labels risk fines and cease-and-desist letters – the Wettbewerbszentrale, Germany's fair-competition watchdog, already runs a dedicated AI complaints office.

With mintys you're covered: the label follows the official EU requirements, carries a timestamp, and is solid legal proof that you labeled from the start. If anyone ever asks, your proof is already in the image.

mintys checks what your image needs.

mintys looks at more than how much AI is in the image, it looks at what the image shows. A photorealistic portrait needs the visible label. A cartoon, an obvious fantasy scene or a photo with touched-up colors does not. mintys knows those exceptions and applies them.

All AI-generated content gets the machine-readable marking, deepfakes included: Content Credentials, a digital passport that travels with the file. The check only settles whether a visible label goes on top. That label is registered tamper-proof in the digital passport too: everything documented in one place, provable at any time.

For you

You upload, mintys does the rest.

One image in, one labeled image out. In between:

  1. image.jpg

    Your image.

Straight out of the AI tool.

    • Visible labelfor people
    • Watermarkfor machines
    • c2pa.manifestsigned

The label goes into the image.

Visible to people, readable by machines. Signed so nobody can fake it.

  2. Done, with its origin.

Who, when, with what – a digital passport that travels with the image. Readable wherever it ends up, social media included.

Visible label and Content Credentials work like the Nutri-Score and the list of ingredients: one you read at a glance, one details the image's origin and content info – and both sit on the image itself. Your image comes back officially signed and protected: Content Credentials per C2PA, the internationally recognized standard for provenance, plus an invisible watermark (steganography).

Not every AI image is a deepfake.

Labeling it right means: not too much and not too little. Too much devalues your real shots, too little falls short of the obligation. mintys suggests the level that fits the image. The original is there for comparison.

  • Original product photo: amber glass bottle on a wooden column, warm light with palm shadowsThe original

    Created without AI

The photo as it was taken. No AI involved.

    No labeling required.

  • The same product photo with AI-optimized colors and cooler light

    AI-enhanced

Same shot, AI only touched up light and colors.

As a rule, no labeling required.

  • The same product photo, altered by AI: the bottle is violet instead of amber. Top right the label AI MODIFIED

    AI-edited

AI reached into the image: the bottle is violet now. It only comes in amber.

    Must be labeled.

  • AI-generated image: the bottle on a wooden stand, wrapped in a splash of water. Top right the EU icon AI GENERATED

    AI-generated

Made entirely by AI. The bottle is larger than the real product.

    Must be labeled.

Your label, in your look.

The EU code of practice sets the frame: the acronym “AI” on every label, readable and embedded in the image. mintys adds the recommended GENERATED or MODIFIED wording to match your content. Everything else is yours: colour, typeface, shape, size and your company logo. Every label is checked before export, and it stays subtle enough not to take over your image.

One upload, every format.

Story, feed, thumbnail: mintys delivers your images in your platforms' formats right away. Every variant gets its label in the right place and its own proof. Nothing gets cut off.

See for yourself.

The label lives in the image, not just in the file info. Try it out here:

Frequently asked questions

When did labeling AI images become mandatory?

On August 2, 2026. Article 50 of the EU AI Act requires anyone publishing AI-generated or AI-modified images to disclose it. The obligation applies regardless of company size, and regardless of whether you provide AI or merely use it.

Do I really have to label?

If you publish AI-generated or AI-edited images: yes, in most cases. The self-test settles whether it applies to you in two minutes. Take the self-test

What happens if I do not label AI images?

Fines run up to 15 million euros or 3 % of worldwide annual turnover, whichever is higher; for small and medium companies the lower amount applies. On top of that comes the risk of a cease-and-desist letter: Germany's Wettbewerbszentrale runs a dedicated complaints office for AI Act violations.

Does every AI image need a label?

No. Color correction, touched-up light or a replaced background usually need no label. It becomes mandatory when an image shows people, objects or events that never existed that way and could pass as real. mintys checks every image and suggests the level that fits.

What is the difference between a visible label and Content Credentials?

The visible label is for people, Content Credentials are for machines. The label sits in the image and carries the acronym AI. Content Credentials are a digital passport following the C2PA standard, documenting origin and edits, and they travel with the image when it is shared. mintys applies both in one step, plus an invisible watermark.

Does the label survive an upload to social media?

The visible label always stays, it is part of the pixels. Content Credentials are stripped by some platforms when they re-encode; that is why every image also carries an invisible watermark that survives resizing and re-compression. Through that watermark, verification still finds the original.

Which files does mintys work with?

All common image formats. Video is coming soon. If a format you need is missing, tell us. Talk to us

What happens to my files?

Your files sit in access-protected storage. Only whoever holds the matching digital key can reach them, which is you. Technically that is a decentralized storage network (IPFS) with token-based access control.

What does mintys cost?

From 19 euros a month for 100 images. Above that sit Pro and Corporate, which add capability rather than just volume. To try it out you get 5 free labels, no subscription. See pricing
